Solution dyed nylon is a type of nylon fabric that is coloured during the fibre production process, rather than being dyed after the fibres have been spun into yarn. The colouring is achieved by adding pigments to the nylon solution before it is extruded through a spinneret to form the fibres.
In addition to its superior colourfastness, solution dyed nylon is also more resistant to staining and easier to clean than conventionally dyed nylon. It is often used in applications where colourfastness and stain resistance are important, such as in carpets, upholstery, and outdoor gear.
Solution dyed nylon is also environmentally friendly because it uses fewer chemicals and resources during the production process, and it generates less waste compared to conventionally dyed nylon.
